SEASON SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Season Five of \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d<\/strong> marks a new start for Alicia Florrick (JULIANNE MARGULIES) as she and Cary (MARK CZUCHRY) join forces to launch their own law firm. As they sever ties with Lockhart\/Gardner, tensions escalate and explode as the new rivals go into attack mode \u2013 battling each other both in and out of court. Alicia\u2019s relationship with Will (JOSH CHARLES) seems irrevocably damaged as he contends with her professional and personal betrayal. Diane (CHRISTINE BARANSKI), who was posed for a judgeship, has her nomination revoked after firing Alicia and returns to the firm. Kalinda\u2019s (ARCHIE PANJABI) relationships with Alicia and Cary are also tested, as she remains loyal to Lockhart\/Gardner. Meanwhile, newly elected Governor Peter Florrick (CHRIS NOTH) and his Chief of Staff Eli (ALAN CUMMING) face new corruption issues as the Ethics Commission investigates possible voter fraud during Peter\u2019s gubernatorial campaign. Alicia\u2019s new venture leads her to volatile showdowns, altering every major relationship she\u2019s cultivated.<\/p>\n

    Each episode includes a standard Dolby Digital 5.1 track (and stereo as well) which allows dialogue levels to sound clear while the other channels are reserved for the soft score and occasional ambient noises.<\/p>\n

    Overall, it\u2019s another great season for \u201cThe Good Wife\u201d<\/strong> raising the bar, no pun intended, with its storytelling, character developments from everyone though Julianna Margulies the most, and the departure of one character which shocked fans but was well done. The DVD released by Paramount has good video and audio transfers while the bonus material is OK with one featurette being the highlight and well worth checking out.<\/p>\n
