PLOT SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

A young American couple (JAMES FRANCO and KATE HUDSON) falls into severe debt while renovating a home in London. When they discover that the tenant in the apartment below them was murdered and left $400,000 cash stashed in the ceiling, the couple thinks all of their problems are solved… but that\u2019s when very bad things start happening to good people.<\/p>\n

Presented in its original 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer (MPEG-4 AVC codec), Good People<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t bad to look at with decent detail levels throughout but at the same time, is on the drab side being a darker in tone flick. Even so, it does look like a clean transfer with no obvious signs of artifacts, pixilation, aliasing or dust marks.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The movie comes with a Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track which is serviceable if not unremarkable. The bulk of the audio is mostly dialogue-driven although there are spots with gunfire in which case it comes through pretty flat. This is not a dynamic track or anything but gets the job done well enough.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 2.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, Good People<\/em><\/strong> tells the same story that has been done countless times before but does excel, albeit on a limited-basis, to a fine cast including James Franco, Kate Hudson and Tom Wilkinson, all three of whom do a good job while relative newcomer Omar Sy, to the U.S. anyway, is wasted with a cardboard cutout bad guy character laughably nicknamed Genghis Khan. The movie aside, the Blu-ray released by Millennium has a thin bonus feature and above average video\/audio transfers.<\/p>\n
