Tony Award-winners Bernadette Peters and Joanna Gleason and the rest of the original Broadway cast weave their magic spell in this presentation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine\u2019s musical classic, Into the Woods<\/em><\/strong>, a seamless fusion of fairytales that strike at the child\u2019s heart within us all. A baker and his wife journey into the woods in search of a cow, a red cape, a pair of golden slippers and some magic beans \u2013 all necessary to lift the curse that has kept them childless. They meet up with a beguiling cast of characters.<\/p>\n

Into the Woods<\/em><\/strong>, which was (probably) filmed in 1990, certainly looks it with terrible details, tons of artifacts and pixilation and just an overall presentation, despite a 1080p high-definition transfer, that is dreadful. Honestly, there\u2019s no reason for something recorded on video tape to even get an HD transfer…<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track is a bit more serviceable providing for good dialogue\/singing levels but still, it\u2019s nothing outstanding and lacks much, if any, depth with everything relegated to the front channels.<\/p>\n
