PLOT SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

All contact with a military base high in the desolate wastelands of Colombia has been lost. The authorities \u2013 believing the base to have fallen to a terrorist attack \u2013 send a nine-man squad to investigate. When they arrive, the men discover a shocking scene of carnage and only one survivor: a mute woman in chains.<\/p>\n

Gradually the isolation, the inability to communicate with the outside world and the impossibility of escape begin to undermine the sanity of the soldiers. They start to question the identity of their enemy and the true nature of the strange, silent woman. Is she a terrorist? A victim? Or something more sinister? Something supernatural? Paranoia takes root. Prisoners of fear and the terrible secret they share, the men abandon their humanity and turn savagely on one another.<\/p>\n

The Squad<\/em><\/strong> invades onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. It\u2019s actually not a terrible HD transfer but has some flaws with so-so detail levels while colors are, purposely, washed out.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Spanish language DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track is respectable showcasing the horror\/thriller aspects where the score makes the most out of each channel while dialogue comes through nice and clear throughout.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, The Squad<\/em><\/strong> is a well made movie coming out of Colombia but it\u2019s not without its problems nor does it take advantage of an interesting plot. Still, it might be worth a watch so long as it\u2019s only the cost of a rental. The Blu-ray released by Shout has limited features while the video\/audio transfers aren\u2019t great but good enough.<\/p>\n
