PLOT SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Save Your Legs<\/em><\/strong> tells the (mostly) true story of a rag-tag team of all-too-swiftly aging Australian cricket players, determined to go for the gusto one last time. Teddy (STEPHEN CURRY) and his best pals Rick (BRENDAN COWELL) and Stavros (DAMON GAMEAU) engineer an \u201cinternational tour\u201d for their stumbling club, focusing on three matches in exotic, cricket-mad India and a chance to meet their idol, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Fish-out-of-water adventures ensue, along with a tribute to the goofy glories of old mateship.<\/p>\n

Audio Commentary<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 The crowded field includes Director Boyd Hicklin, Producers Robyn Kershaw and Nick Batzias & Actors Stephen Curry, Brendan Cowell and Damon Gameau. Given all the participants, this track keeps on a brisk pace covering all sorts of topics and is fairly light-hearted but informative.<\/p>\n

Save Your Legs: The Documentary (52:01)<\/strong><\/span> is an extensive featurette on the real-life cricket players. If you didn\u2019t know anything about the sport, you certainly learn about it in this lengthy feature.<\/p>\n

Bound 4 India with Ted & Col (6:01)<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 This is a bonus short with the two characters shopping for their trip to India.<\/p>\n

Twilight Time releases Save Your Legs<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Shouldn\u2019t be much of a surprise, but this 2012 film looks good with excellent detail levels, colors are vibrant especially when the players get to India and it appears to be a clean transfer.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 4.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track offers up good depth from the crowd cheers, or even lack thereof, to crisp and clear dialogue levels primarily coming through the center channels. The front and rear speakers are mostly relegated to ambient noises or the score.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, Save Your Legs<\/em><\/strong> is a good movie and probably even more profound to the fan of cricket, which is not me (I can\u2019t even get into soccer for crying out loud), but it\u2019s still an oft funny flick with an amiable cast. The Blu-ray released by Twilight Time offers a good audio\/video transfers and a fine set of bonus material.<\/p>\n
