PLOT SUMMARY<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Two Rode Together<\/em><\/strong> offers the superb James Stewart\u2019s first appearance in a film from the legendary director John Ford. The result is a tough revisionist Western about a cynical frontier marshal (JAMES STEWART) who teams with a cavalry officer (RICHARD WIDMARK) to rescue a group of long-held white captives from a band of redoubtable Comanche.<\/p>\n

Along with a 6-page booklet<\/strong>, the disc only has the Isolated Score Track<\/strong><\/span> (DTS-HD MA 2.0) and the Theatrical Trailer (3:08; HD)<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

VIDEO \u2013 4.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Two Rode Together<\/em><\/strong> debuts on Blu-ray from Twilight Time presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture in a nutshell looks fantastic with excellent detail levels and seemingly clean from artifacts, dust marks and other flaws. There is some graininess but it\u2019s nothing overabundant or distracting from the beauty of the transfer.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track offers good dialogue levels, which makes up the bulk of the movie anyway, while ambient noises \u2013 like horse riding and such \u2013 comes across well enough even if it\u2019s relegated to a singular channel.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, Two Rode Together<\/em><\/strong> might not be the greatest western, and certainly not a memorable one for either director John Ford or James Stewart, yet it\u2019s still an enjoyable movie worth at least one look if anything. The Blu-ray released by Twilight Time has good video and audio transfers but the features are limited.<\/p>\n
