THE MOVIE<\/strong> \u2013 1.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

An isolated town full of sexy \u201ccollege\u201d girls (i.e. actresses in their 30s). A tough big-city cop sent to find the daughter (CASEY FITZGERALD) of his captain (KEVIN SORBO) unbeknownst to him killed in the opening act that blatantly copies\/steals from the first Scream<\/i> movie and also stumbles upon disappearances of other coed girls. A psychotic killer with a taste for terror, torture and sorority sister torment. But when this party gets started, will all of them receive an advanced degree in extreme horror? Survey says: Yeppers.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s so much wrong with Sorority Party Massacre<\/i><\/b> from the poor direction, stilted writing and clumsy attempts at humor that goes in and out and not very consistent and acting which is pretty bad even for a horror film filled with unknowns whose only purposes are to be kills. But even beyond all that, the title itself makes this a disappointment because it\u2019s hardly a party and the massacres are pretty weak. There\u2019s a reason this took a couple years to make it to video. Skip at all costs.<\/p>\n

Surprisingly enough, this DVD did receive some special features including an Audio Commentary<\/span><\/b> with Producer\/Writer\/Director Chris W. Freeman and Producer\/Director Justin Jones; a Behind the Scenes (10:43)<\/span><\/b> featurette with on-set footage and interviews; three Deleted Scenes (11:04)<\/span><\/b>; some Outtakes (9:54)<\/span><\/b>; something called Paige Fight Scene (2:42)<\/span><\/b> which I assume was some kind of test footage?; and finally the Barney Lumpkin Campaign Ad (0:50)<\/span><\/b>.<\/p>\n

Overall, Sorority Party Massacre<\/i><\/b> fails in almost all phases from the title itself, the casting, acting and direction. I understand what the filmmakers were going after, mixing different movies and genres but it doesn\u2019t mesh well enough, unfortunately because it did have the opportunity to be the fun kind of bad movie instead of just plain bad. The DVD released by Anchor Bay has a fair amount of features, though.<\/p>\n
