When King returns home to his small Texas town, he reconnects with his parents (CIARAN HINDS, LINDA EMOND) while best friend, and fellow Marine, Steve (CHANNING TATUM), deals with post-traumatic stress disorder resulting in getting drunk, striking fianc\u00e9e Michelle (ABBIE CORNISH) and other issues. Also having troubles re-adjusting is Tommy Burgess (JOSEPH GORDON-LEVITT) where, while in battle, is saved by a fellow soldier who losy his right arm and leg and burns on his face after an RPG attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 2.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>All the features from the DVD have been ported over.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Audio Commentary<\/span><\/b> with Co-Writer\/Director Kimberly Pierce and Co-Writer Mark Richard; it\u2019s a decent enough track, straight-forward and informative going through each aspect of making the movie.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Making of <i>Stop-Loss<\/i> (20:59; HD)<\/span><\/b> provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie was made and features interviews with the cast and crew as they talk about the challenges, about the characters, etc. It\u2019s nothing extraordinary but well put together.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A Day in Boot Camp (10:03; HD)<\/span><\/b> looks at the actors going through training in preparation for their roles.<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Deleted Scenes (18:43; SD)<\/span><\/b> contains 11 scenes that were cut or excised completely. There\u2019s nothing here that I would miss from the final film but there is some good acting. There\u2019s an optional director\u2019s commentary if you\u2019d like to know why they were removed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>VIDEO \u2013 4.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><b><i>Stop-Loss<\/i><\/b> arrives on Blu-ray from Warner Home Video via Paramount, presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio (originally shown in 1.85) and in 1080p high-definition. The picture actually looks pretty good with sharp detail levels and a good balance in colors with darker undertones. Black levels also are decent showing no signs of artifacts or pixilation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 4.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track provided isn\u2019t amazing but more than serviceable. The bulk of the audio is dialogue driven which comes through the center channel clearly while the front and rear speakers are relegated for the dramatic score, ambient noises or action elements in the beginning through the fighting in the war zone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>OVERALL \u2013 3.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Overall, <b><i>Stop-Loss<\/i><\/b> is a well made war-drama featuring several fine performances from Ryan Phillippe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum.
