Instead, she’s choosing ties and interviewing prospective girlfriends for her handsome and hapless billionaire boss George Wade (HUGH GRANT). She originally took the job to help others and save a beloved community center in her neighborhood but soon enough her feelings toward the once loathsome George has turned into something more. However, with the expectations for her job not living up to what she anticipated, with phone calls at all hours of the night, she turns in her two weeks’ notice (if we’re going with proper grammar as I discovered) and in the time find a suitable replacement

Quick Hit Review: Two Weeks Notice is one of those romantic comedies that not only doesn’t break new ground in the genre but does it in such a way that makes one shrug their shoulders and move on to the next movie. Don’t get me wrong, some of the jokes are funny and together Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock make for a charming pairing, but outside of that, it’s merely an amiable film that one will forget in a week’s time.

The film was written and directed by Marc Lawrence who previously worked with Sandra Bullock (serving as the producer) on 2000s Miss Congeniality and later its unnecessary sequel as well as working with Hugh Grant again on the slightly superior Music and Lyrics and the dreadful Did You Hear About the Morgans? Lawrence shows that he can be a good writer/director as Two Weeks Notice does have its moments and yet at the same time this isn’t the kind of film one will remember even compared with other romantic-comedies… heck, even against other Hugh Grant rom-coms.

Still, in the end, the film does breeze on by and although the script isn’t the strongest, Grant and Bullock have enough chemistry to make it a passable flick and maybe make fans out of those who love romantic-comedies.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2.5/5

All the features from the DVD were carried over.
