VIDEO \u2013 4.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\nRLJ Entertainment releases The Colony<\/i><\/b> onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture actually doesn\u2019t look bad despite being what I assume was a relatively inexpensive production. The film looks like it was shot digitally and while it looks a bit too clean at times, the clarity looks excellent, detail levels quite good and the colors, in the darker realm, well balanced.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 3.75\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\nThe 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track provided offers crystal clear audio levels with dialogue coming from the center channel with ambient noise (such as a blizzard or gunfire) making use of the front and rear speakers nicely. It\u2019s not a perfect lossless track nor is it one I\u2019d use to show off my system, but it\u2019s a solid track nonetheless.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 3.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\nOverall, The Colony<\/i><\/b> actually isn\u2019t too bad of a suspense-thriller. It\u2019s a low budget utilizing SyFy-like sets and visual effects (well, perhaps a bit better) but the performances are very good headlined by Kevin Zegers and Laurence Fishburne (in a limited role). The Blu-ray released by RLJ has good audio\/video transfers but the bonus material is limited.<\/p>\n
