Simply Irresistible<\/i><\/b> fixes its spell onto Blu-ray presented with its original 2.35 aspect ratio and a spotty 1080p high-def transfer. As with Best Laid Plans<\/i> (a movie also released in \u201999), this one has dust marks and scratches throughout and while the detail levels are at best average, it\u2019s hard to escape the flaws. The color array isn\u2019t too bad and the black levels are moderately decent but comparatively, it\u2019s not a huge improvement over its DVD counterpart.<\/p>\n

AUDIO \u2013 2.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If I didn\u2019t see it on my receiver, I would\u2019ve sworn this Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track was actually a mono one instead. While the front and rear speakers get a workout through the late 1990s soundtrack, the rest of the audio was strictly front-loaded and even there it sometimes was muffled, although I suspect it has more to do with the production sound than anything specifically with the transfer.<\/p>\n

OVERALL \u2013 2.0\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Overall, Simply Irresistible<\/i><\/b> is an average romantic comedy headlined by then starlet Sarah Michelle Gellar who was at the height of her fame from \u201cBuffy the Vampire Slayer\u201d and to some extent, I Know What You Did Last Summer<\/i>; but even though Gellar is charming, the rest of the movie falls flat. The Blu-ray itself doesn\u2019t have much to offer with no features (not even a menu) and average audio\/video transfers.<\/p>\n
