Presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio, the movie has a decent amount of noise but it looks a bit, for the lack of a better word, dirty. The detail level on this picture is OK though hardly noteworthy. It\u2019s also, albeit perhaps intended, on the dark side so it\u2019s not something that pops off the screen.<br \/>\n<a name=\"audio\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 3.5\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The DTS-HD Master Audio stereo track actually isn\u2019t too bad and given there\u2019s mostly dialogue in the film, it\u2019s perfectly functional though the action elements do tend to top out but it\u2019s few and far between. Given the film\u2019s age, and minimal work done by the studio, it\u2019s not surprising that we get a 2 channel lossless track.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><br \/>\n<a name=\"overall\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>OVERALL \u2013 2.25\/5<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Overall, <b><i>The Bonfire of the Vanities<\/i><\/b> was a critical and financial flop when it was released back in 1990 and considering its cast with Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis, it should have been better.
