While certainly entertaining this is one of Arnold’s lesser endeavors, to the point it felt like he was never intended for the role and some of his attributes was changed to suit him, most notably his one-liners that felt forced rather than humorous. Still, the action sequence during the finale was fun and for his part, James Caan made for an over-the-top 90s villain. Vanessa Williams was fine with a far too perfect character with no flaws and I always enjoyed seeing James Coburn show up even if it’s a thankless part.

Eraser was directed by Chuck Russell, the filmmaker behind A Nightmare on Elm Street 3, The Blob (1988), The Mask and The Scorpion King and he’s the epitome of a serviceable director, nothing really stands out in any sort of style and someone who probably gets along with studios to deliver a project on time. Eraser isn’t anything special but a fine time-waster.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 3/5

This release comes with a matted slip cover and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD copy.
