Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Following the death of his wife, Los Angeles police detective Martin Riggs (MEL GIBSON) becomes reckless and suicidal. When he is reassigned and partnered with Roger Murtaugh (DANNY GLOVER), Riggs immediately clashes with the older officer. Together they uncover a massive drug-trafficking ring. As they encounter increasingly dangerous situations, Riggs and Murtaugh begin to form a bond. Riggs’ volatile behavior might just help them apprehend the criminals — if it doesn’t kill them both first.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>I\u2019ve probably watched Lethal Weapon<\/em><\/strong> dozens of times over the years, going back to the early 90s on VHS. Now 30+ years later and of course the movie holds up and shows why it\u2019s an iconic 1980s classic featuring perfect performances by both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover working so well off of one another, not to mention Gary Busey playing an absolute psychotic. The mix of action, drama and comedy was wonderful.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This release comes with a slip cover<\/strong> and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD<\/strong> copy. Features include A Legacy of Inspiration: Remembering Dick Donner (7:00)<\/u><\/strong> and \u201cI\u2019m Too Old for This\u2026\u201d: A Chemistry That Became Iconic (6:06)<\/u><\/strong>. For whatever reason none of the legacy features (commentary, deleted scenes) were ported over.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a Dolby Atmos track which is a slight upgrade from the Blu-ray\u2019s DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. Given the amount of action and thrills, this Atmos track takes full advantage of the additional channels while dialogue comes across with crisp and clear clarity.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc includes a Dolby Atmos track that comes to life during the key action sequences however I can\u2019t say I was entirely blown away about this lossless track. While the audio is evenly distributed through every available channel, the LFE channel on the other hand seemed a bit quiet save for a few moments that did provide a little depth.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Lethal Weapon<\/em><\/strong> is just one of the most quintessential action-thrillers from the 1980s and is just a treat to watch Mel Gibson and Danny Glover working so well together, really the poster child of the buddy-buddy subgenre. That said, this 4K release, while looks and sounds good, fails to port over the many features from the Blu-ray release(s), which is inexcusable as they could\u2019ve just included the old Blu-ray.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
