Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/em><\/strong> gave the time-honored, legendary superhero a \u201890s twist over the course of four seasons.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/em><\/strong> is a show that I watched when it initially aired on ABC back in 1993 through its four season run. However, I hadn\u2019t really seen it since save for an episode or two either in syndication or on DVD, but even then it\u2019s been several years. In re-watching it\u2019s for sure cheesy and not terribly well acted at times, however I did immensely enjoyed the chemistry between Cain and Hatcher and even liked John Shea\u2019s portrayal as a Lex Luthor with a full head of hair.<\/p>\n

On the whole, while it\u2019s hardly perfect and yes a product of the early to mid 90s, I had a blast re-watching and if I had one word for the series it would be absolutely charming. It\u2019s just a whole lot of fun and honors the Superman legacy while putting its own spin, plus it\u2019s a palette cleanser, be it with the writing or special effects, from the atrocious Superman IV<\/em> which came out only 6 years prior. The show also gives a wink and a nod to some of the more ridiculous things such as the whole glasses thing which I found amusing.<\/p>\n

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman<\/em><\/strong> is an all-around fun time and an innocent series with so much sincerity in what is now a more cynical world.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This 20-disc set comes housed in a wide DVD-sized case with a removable spindle inside for easier access to the discs. The only downside is there is no episode guide either in booklet or written on the back of the artwork; nor are what episodes are included on the disc art either.<\/p>\n

    Warner Bros. releases Lois & Clark<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray for the first time and is presented here in its original 1.33 full frame aspect ratio as originally televised. While it does certainly have the look of a 1990s production, the picture does look fairly good with nice detail and colors vibrant without being oversaturated, with the blues and reds in Superman\u2019s costume standing out the most. As I no long have my DVD set, I can\u2019t compare the two however I can only think this is a marked improvement.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
