From uncovering patterns in terrorist communications and networks in the Middle East, to tracking suspicious cargo tied to far-reaching conspiracies in South America and crisscrossing Europe to prevent the cascade of destabilizing conflict and global catastrophe, Jack will stop at nothing to protect the country he loves and her allies. The stakes could not be higher.

Quick Hit Review: Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is yet another attempt at bringing the character to life following the Alec Baldwin/Harrison Ford films, Ben Affleck’s turn in The Sum of All Fears and Chris Pine in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, each one weren’t at all bad and at the very least entertaining, though from my reading, none encapsulate the character quite right. This time John Krasinski plays the role and given a whole lot of breathing room to develop the character with the TV series format, and for the most part was a major success and really showcased that Krasinski is more than the goofy comedic actor as seen in The Office (and subsequently a talented filmmaker with A Quiet Place).

Aside from Krasinski, the series also includes a wonderful supporting cast headlined by the underrated Wendell Pierce as James Greer (James Earl Jones portrayed the character in the original film series) and Michael Kelly who entered the show in the second season while Abbie Cornish appears in the first and fourth seasons as Jack’s love interest, Cathy Mueller.

Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan is a great series filled with some amazing, feature-film level suspense and action and finally gives the character his due and Krasinski is perfection in the role.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 1/5

This eight-disc set comes housed in a DVD-sized case with the discs in spindles.
