Dr. Amanda Hollins (KIM HUNTER) is a molecular scientist who calls on her son John (DAVID ALLEN BROOKS) to eliminate all evidence of her genetic experiments… most specifically her \u201cAnthony Journals.\u201d Dr. Philip Lloyd (ROD STEIGER), an acquaintance of Hollins who is familiar with her experiments, wants to continue her studies no matter the cost. John heads to his isolated childhood home with a group of friends to uncover his mother\u2019s research and destroy it all. Synapse Films releases The Kindred<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray where it\u2019s presented in the original 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer, taken from a new 4K remaster of the unrated version of the film. As it is, and considering the budget for its time, the picture here looks excellent with sharp and well defined detail throughout and colors were nicely balanced. There were no apparent signs of artifacts, aliasing or other flaws.<\/p>\n

The movie comes with a new DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track along with the original 2.0 mono theatrical mix with the former being the default option. Dialogue comes through with good clarity and with god clarity, no pops or hisses along with decent depth with the soundtrack\/score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
