Brian MacLean (JAMES CAGNEY) is an overconfident Canadian bush pilot who does not think twice before stealing any flying opportunity from his fellow pilots. But when he joins the air force at the beginning of World War II, his disregard for authority causes more problems than he can imagine. Captains of the Clouds<\/em><\/strong> flies onto Blu-ray through the Warner Archive Collection where it\u2019s presented in its original 1.37 full frame aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer culled from a 4K scan of original nitrate Technicolor camera negatives. Not a surprise as for my money these Warner Archive releases, the picture here does look fantastic. Colors are nicely balanced and show some good vibrancy and detail is sharp and well defined throughout. There were some very minor specs but these were rare making for a great looking picture on the whole.<\/p>\n

The movie comes with the usual DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track that these older films. There is some noticeable hissing noise for some scenes, especially with dialogue, but all in all is a respectable lossless track that, for a singular track, shows off some okay depth for the more action-centric scenes.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
