Instead of hiding, he seeks revenge against some of the most powerful and corrupt leaders in the free world.

Quick Hit Review: Shooter, released in 2007, was a film I found to be entertaining but nothing overly special. Having recently now re-watched it and… well my opinion remains the same. Mark Wahlberg is solid in the lead and the film does have some decent action sequences alongside a respectable supporting cast led by Danny Glover and Ned Beatty in villainous roles. But otherwise this isn’t top tier government-thrillers with the likes of The Bourne Identity instead more akin to The Bourne Legacy, which is also a film I quite enjoyed but paled in comparison to its predecessors.

Shooter was directed by Antoine Fuqua, whose resume includes The Replacement Killers (an adequate action-thriller that I recently re-watched), The Equalizer and Training Day, does a good job with the action sequences and at the very least keeps the pace at a good rate. This may not be terribly memorable but worth watching especially on a lazy Saturday.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 2½/5

This release comes housed in a Steelbook case and inside is a redemption code for the Digital HD copy.
