Things get tough for Carol (JOAN BLONDELL) and her showgirl pals (RIBY KEELER, ALINE MACMAHON) when the Great Depression kicks in and all the Broadway shows close down. Wealthy songwriter Brad (DICK POWELL) saves the day by funding a new Depression-themed musical for the girls to star in, but when his stuffy high-society brother finds out and threatens to disown Brad, Carol and her gold-digging friends scheme to keep the show going, hooking a couple of millionaires along the way.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Warner Bros. releases Gold Diggers of 1933<\/em><\/strong>, presented in the original 1.37 full frame aspect ratio and a new 1080p high-definition transfer. This black and white picture looks pretty phenomenal as I come to expect from most of these older films put out by the Warner Bros. Archive Collection. Detail is incredibly sharp throughout and the natural noise and grain is still present. Black levels are stark and there were no noticeable dust marks, scratches or specs making for a nearly pristine picture.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with the usual DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track which serves well for a musical, showing off the wonderful music, alongside the clear dialogue and only very minor noise that I detected. That said, it\u2019s another good lossless track for an older film, one going on 90 years amazingly enough.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
