Officer Matt Cordell was once a hero, but after being framed by corrupt superiors and brutally assaulted in prison, he sets out on a macabre mission of vengeance, teaming up with a vicious serial killer to track down those that wronged him and make them pay&#8230; with their lives!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <em>Maniac Cop 2<\/em><\/strong> is a cheesy B-monster movie that doesn\u2019t always click and does drag a bit and really doesn\u2019t make a whole lot of sense even with a supernatural element thrown into the mix. Still, some of the action wasn\u2019t half bad including a finale that was pretty damn incredible and almost makes up for some of the film\u2019s shortcomings. Nothing outstanding but it\u2019s an enjoyable track nonetheless. (Also on 4K UHD disc)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Back on the Beat: The Making of <em>Maniac Cop 2<\/em> (46:52)<\/u><\/strong> is an extensive behind-the-scenes retrospective, produced by Blue Underground, including new interviews with the people involved (director William Lustig, writer Larry Cohen, actors Robert Davi and Claudia Christian, et al) in the project. There aren\u2019t many new movies which get this kind of treatment&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Cinefamily Q&amp;A with Director William Lustig (28:36)<\/u><\/strong> \u2013 Filmed at some small theater, fans of Maniac Cop 2 asked questions of Lustig following a screening. The picture here looks good, detail is sharp and it does appear the natural film grain is intact. Honestly, the original track already sounded quite good and this one pretty much is on par if only a tad better.
