Alexis (TURHAN BEY) is a mystery man who claims to communicate with spirits. Appearing on the beach one night, Alexis easily charms a depressed widow (LYNN BARI) and her sister (CATHY O\u2019DONNELL). The Film Detective releases The Amazing Mr. X<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray where the film is presented in the original 1.37 full frame aspect ratio and has been given a new 1080p high-definition transfer taken from a new 4K scan from the original 35mm film elements. From my research, this is a public domain movie that has been released numerous times over the years in oft highly edited cuts. I have to assume this is the best this film has ever looked as the black and white presentation looks excellent. Outside of a few specs here and there, the detail is sharp and nicely defined and dark levels are well balanced.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes with a DTS-HD MA Mono track which sounds fairly good for a film of this age. Dialogue came across with decent clarity and the track itself was pretty clean, no significant issues of pops, hisses or general noise.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
