Returned to the world defenseless, Alex becomes the victim of his prior victims.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>No doubt Stanley Kubrick\u2019s <strong><em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em><\/strong> is a visceral treat and features a fantastic performance from Malcolm McDowell, but for me in amazingly my first viewing, I wasn\u2019t as totally enamored compared with others. The first half I found to be a chore to sit through before things pick up in the third act especially. Obviously the movie has iconic scenes and costume designs, particularly \u201cSinging in the Rain\u201d sequence, but even when things did pick up, I never found myself especially engaged with either the story or characters.<\/p>\n<p>This being only the third Stanley Kubrick film I\u2019ve now seen, still really want to check out <em>2001: A Space Odyssey<\/em> and <em>Full Metal Jacket<\/em>, this probably is at the bottom of the list, yes even below <em>Eyes Wide Shut<\/em>. Includes interviews with Sam Mendes, Malcolm McDowell and others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Great Bolshy Yarblockos!: Making <em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em> (28:19)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 2007 featurette again looks at the controversies surrounding the film and how it has endured over the course of 3+ decades. This one includes interviews with Steven Spielberg, Sydney Pollack and George Lucas amongst many others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Turning Like <em>Clockwork<\/em> (26:19)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 This one explores the cultural impact and influence of the film where we hear from McDowell, Oliver Stone, Paul Greengrass and James Mangold and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Malcolm McDowell Looks Back (10:30)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Interview with the star as he recollects working with Kubrick and on his iconic character.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Theatrical Trailer (1:03)<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>VIDEO \u2013 4\u00bd\/5, AUDIO \u2013 3\u00bd\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Warner Bros. releases <strong><em>A Clockwork Orange<\/em><\/strong> onto 4K Ultra HD where it\u2019s presented in the original 1.66 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 2160p high-definition transfer. While I don\u2019t think this is a brilliant 4K transfer, compared with others anyway, it\u2019s still a fine picture where detail is sharp, particularly on the close-ups, and colors are very vivid and bright aided a bit by the HDR.<\/p>\n<p>The disc comes with what I assume was the same DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 codec that was on the original Blu-ray.
