Civilization is cast into ruin when a runaway planet speeds between the Earth and the Moon, unleashing cosmic destruction. Two thousand years later, Earth is reborn from the ashes with a savage landscape, strange creatures and a primitive sense of justice. Using the strengths of his companions Ookla the Mok (HENRY CORDEN) and sorceress Princess Ariel (NELLIE BELLFLOWER) of courage and wits, they journey from village to village, liberating slaves and battling all kinds of beasts, mutants, wizards, thieves and robots. Thundarr the Barbarian<\/em><\/strong> slices his way onto Blu-ray, presented with a 1.33 full frame aspect ratio as originally aired on ABC. The series comes via the Warner Archive Collection and for the most part the picture looks good even if the animation itself is a bit crude, as it usually was for 1980s Saturday morning cartoons. Still, it\u2019s fairly clean throughout and colors appear to be well balanced.<\/p>\n

Each episode comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track which was more than adequate for a show that had limited audio when it aired back in the early 80s. Dialogue comes across with good clarity and modest depth for the music and any of the more action-centric scenes.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
