Joe Boyd, an aging Washington Senators fan, would sell his soul for the Senators to beat the New York Yankees and win the pennant. Enter Applegate (RAY WALSTON), who offers to turn Boyd into Joe Hardy (TAB HUNTER), a powerful young baseball player, in exchange for his soul. When Boyd agrees, he becomes Hardy and leads the Senators on a winning streak. Damn Yankees<\/em><\/strong> steps up to the bat on Blu-ray through the Warner Bros. Archive Collection. The new 1080p high-definition transfer, presented in the film\u2019s original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio, looks pretty dang good. Detail is very sharp and nicely defined throughout, while colors are fairly well balanced and vibrant and appear to be in keeping with the late 1950s time period.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track but even for being a singular channel shows some nice depth for both the standard dialogue scenes to go along with the many numerous musical numbers.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
