Enrico Caruso’s (MARIO LANZO) only passion is to sing. For that, he leaves his hometown of Naples, Italy, and travels to America to sing for the Metropolitan Opera. At first his lack of education and poor background make him an outcast in the high-class opera world. Eventually, his amazing voice wins him both fans and the hand of his love, Dorothy (Ann Blyth). But his nonstop pace and desire to perform at any cost eventually take their toll on the singer’s health.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Warner Brothers releases The Great Caruso<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.37 full frame aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer. This is another (at least near) homerun from Warner\u2019s Archive Collection, detail is sharp and well defined and colors are bright, vibrant and nicely balanced throughout. The transfer looks near pristine, not obvious dust marks or scratches.<\/p>\n

The disc includes the standard, for older releases, DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track. This one is pretty impressive given the amount of music and singing there is, the depth for a singular channel isn\u2019t half bad and dialogue does come across with fine clarity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
