But with the forces of darkness closing in on them at ludicrous speed, they\u2019ll need the help of a wise imp named Yogurt (MEL BROOKS) and the mystical power of \u201cThe Schwartz\u201d to bring peace and merchandising rights to the entire galaxy!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <em>Spaceballs<\/em><\/strong>, needless to say, is a comedy classic and while not a favorite of mine, I actually prefer Mel Brooks\u2019 <em>Men in Tights<\/em>, this one still provides plenty of chuckles despite having seen this a few times over the years. Not all of the jokes land but there\u2019s enough to keep one entertained.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Everything about it is goofy of course but the cast seemed to be game and struck the right note, especially John Candy as Barf and Bill Pullman as Lone Starr. I don\u2019t know if any restoration work was done nor how the Blu-ray compares with the original MGM release, but from my eye, both look pretty darn fantastic. Detail is incredibly sharp and nicely defined throughout and the natural film grain and noise is very present. Doing a quick comparison between the 4K and Blu-ray I really didn\u2019t discern a huge difference, perhaps somewhat better or brighter colors but only just, courtesy of the HDR.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 4\u00bc\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Both formats come with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. It wouldn\u2019t surprise me if this is the same or at least similar to the original Blu-ray release.
