Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Brett Kingsford (LESLIE NIELSEN) is an Occult expert who is brought in by police to help solve a series of murders in which a mystical statue is left at each crime scene. Kingsford soon discovers a mysterious connection between the victims.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>Initially shot as a pilot episode for a series (titled Black Cloak<\/em>), produced by Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s Shamley production company, which ultimately wasn\u2019t picked up, Dark Intruder<\/em><\/strong> was then released to theaters by Universal. The film itself is only 59-minutes long so it is a brief time waster and I suppose has just enough to keep one\u2019s attention, especially if you\u2019re unfamiliar with Leslie Nielsen\u2019s more dramatic period in his career but storywise it\u2019s nothing special, in addition the acting is hit or miss, Nielsen for his part was decent while Mark Richman was on the uneven side.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Dark Intruder<\/em><\/strong> makes its debut on Blu-ray through Kino Lorber (was previously available on DVD along with The Night Walker<\/em>), presented with a 1.66 widescreen aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer culled from a new 2K master. This is a rather gorgeous looking black and white film, detail is incredible sharp throughout and the natural film grain and noise has been retained.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 track sounds incredible in its own right. Dialogue comes across with good clarity and I did not detect any significant pops or hisses which is more than respectable considering this was originally going to be a TV series from the mid-60s.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
