He soon awakens wounded, alone and trapped in Ms. Eloise&#8217;s (LORETTA DEVINE) attic. Eloise claims she can nurse him back to health with a hoodoo figure she&#8217;s made from his blood and skin. Back cover boasts of \u201cOver an Hour of Bonus Content\u201d, total running time was 1:00:44, so technically true but just barely.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Deleted\/Extended Scenes (26:51)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 There are 15 scenes here, including alternate opening and end scenes. Nothing amazing here and probably good to cut down the movie to its slimmer running time, but worth checking out at least.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>The Nightmare Spell (3:10)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Short film or something on the \u201cspell\u201d placed on our main character.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>Rootwork: Conjuring <em>Spell<\/em> (17:54)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Behind-the-scenes featurette on the making of the film with on-set interviews with members of the cast and crew.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><u>The Art of Hoodoo (12:49)<\/u><\/strong> looks at the production design of the film.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>VIDEO \u2013 4\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tonally <strong><em>Spell<\/em><\/strong> isn\u2019t exactly a bright, cheerful movie. Daytime scenes had some good coloring as was the sharpness on the close-up shots while, especially halfway through, while our main character is being held by Ms. Eloise, the movie does look dark but even so, the black levels are well balanced being able to discern what\u2019s happening on screen.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>AUDIO \u2013 4\u00bd\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The disc comes equipped with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which has some decent depth with ambient noises and the score making most out of the front and, particularly, rear speakers. Dialogue and any central action coming out of the center channel.
