With bullets flying and bodies dropping, Nero must now complete his mission — and find Mzamo’s hideout, to exact his revenge.

Quick Hit Review: Seized is a simple suspense-thriller that breaks absolutely no new ground but still is a passable film worth checking out if you have a spare 80-minutes. The acting is fine I suppose, Scott Adkins shows he has the skills to be a believable fighter and all around bad ass even if the script fails him while Mario Van Peebles… puts on a cartoonish Mexican accent. The stunts were actually okay and the story was thin and a bit ludicrous but serves as the vessel for a high body count with a splattering side of CGI blood.

Directed by Isaac Florentine, who previous helmed Adkins in Close Range, and a script from Rico Lowry, Seized at least was a tad better than I expected. It’s not technically good but a passable thriller to watch on a slow Saturday afternoon with nothing on the grid that captures your attention.

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0/5

No features were included.

VIDEO – 4¼/5, AUDIO – 4/5

The movie is presented with a 16×9 enhanced 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and even being in standard definition looks rather good in comparison with other DVDs, with bright, vibrant colors.
