Filmmaker Nanni Moretti (NANNI MORETTI) goes on three disparate journeys. First, he rides through Rome on a scooter, musing on cinema, and has a chance encounter with actress Jennifer Beals. Next, he and his friend, Gerardo (RENATO CARPENTIERI), tour a number of islands searching for a peaceful place to write a screenplay. And finally, Moretti, hampered by a nagging skin rash, goes from doctor to doctor looking for the right diagnosis, which may or may not turn out to be severe.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Caro Diario <\/em>(Dear Diary<\/em>)<\/strong> arrives on Blu-ray courtesy of Film Movement. The 1080p high-definition transfer is taken from a new 2K digital restoration and as an indie movie going on 25+ years, looks pretty darn good. Detail on this, especially close-ups, is impressive with sharpness. Outside of a few minor blemishes, mainly some specs, it\u2019s a relatively clean looking transfer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a strong Italian language PCM 2.0 track, at least stronger than expected for a travelogue comedy-drama. Dialogue comes through with good clarity and there is some ambient noises, like the sounds of the city, that do come through.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
