Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>When a Russian doctor (PATRIZIA GORI) falls foul of the Nazis, she finds herself imprisoned at Fort Stilberg, a luxury brothel for German top brass where the women are overseen by sadistic SS officer Helga Hortz (JACQUELINE LAURENT). The doctor\u2019s medical skills bring her to the attention of Nazi Lieutenant Erik Mueller (JACK TAYLOR), who saves the lovely lady from becoming one of the establishment\u2019s \u2018hostesses\u2019 by assigning her to the infirmary.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>I\u2019m not overly familiar with the Nazisploitation subgenre save for Quentin Tarantino\u2019s homage with his Inglorious Basterds<\/em>. So Nathalie: Escape from Hell<\/em><\/strong> is my real first foray into it and found it to be watchable with an interesting enough storyline that does meander and a plot that only comprises maybe 10-minutes, that being our girl Nathalie being given the mission to find a captured British spy with vital information, rescue her before the Nazis find her identity.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s really not much more to this film. I really can\u2019t gauge the acting as the entirety is dubbed, and terribly so with mouth movements often not matching, even to the point where a character\u2019s mouth has closed but is still talking. There\u2019s even one instance where two lines of dialogued are repeated one after the other.<\/p>\n

Now, on a more superficial front, Patrizia Gori as the titular character is a beauty and at least Jacqueline Laurent, albeit way over-the-top (she cackles several times throughout), but having said that, she could be quite scary, going full-on psychotic with her sadistic torturing in her dungeon.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Nathalie<\/em><\/strong> is presented here in its original 1.66 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer, just showing you the times we\u2019re in. The picture is a mixed bag. While detail actually doesn\u2019t look half bad and colors are fairly well balanced, there\u2019s not a frame that isn\u2019t littered with specs, scratches, and general film damage you can think of. Given the type of movie this is, I would not expect any studio to put too much into the transfer, including a detail clean-up.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes with a PCM 2.0 track which outputs the terrible dubbing quite nicely. Since it is a stereo track, it\u2019s of course limited and I could discern plenty of pops and hissing here and there. Levels did tend to top out a time or two as well.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Nathalie<\/em><\/strong> is a sleazy film for sure with horrible dubbing and a thin plot, yet still found it semi-tolerable with Patrizia Gori being easy on the eyes and at least Jacqueline Laurent was hilariously bad with her cackling… but also really frightening. Probably a pick-up for fans of these \u2018sploitations\u2019 flicks, others may find it to be dull.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
