Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Sarah Collins (SARAH BOLGER) is a single mother struggling to raise two young children while searching for answers about the unsolved murder of her husband. After being coerced into helping a low-level drug dealer (ANDREW SIMPSON), she finds herself the target of a dangerous crime boss (EDWARD HOGG). Desperate to keep her family safe, Sarah turns the table on her victimizers in one final act of vengeance.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: A Good Woman is Hard to Find<\/em><\/strong> is a film that features a wonderful performance from Sarah Bolger who pretty much carries it. Unfortunately, the writing and storytelling isn\u2019t the strongest with some missing elements to get the audience to buy into a meek single mother and taking her to the point where she\u2019s cutting up a body and taking its head to a dangerous mobster. In a way, reminded me of Peppermint<\/em>, a revenge flick starring Jennifer Garner, a previously normal woman who exacts vengeance on those who killed her family. But at least that film attempts to explain it away with her worldwide journey where she trained. Here, it was a bit difficult to buy her as an almost psychopath, no matter how just she might have been (the man she carves up was killed in self defense).<\/p>\n

However, other than Bolger, not much else really stands out. The acting from the supporting cast was fine. Edward Hogg portrays the mob boss with, for some reason, a penitent for proper grammar, because I guess a European villain needs a quirk…<\/p>\n

The film was directed by Abner Pastoll from a script written by Ronan Blaney and I think perhaps with some polishing of the script, filling in the gaps with the story, not to mention some odd pacing (which also falls on Pastoll as the editor), A Good Woman is Hard to Find<\/em><\/strong> could have been great, instead it\u2019s a fine film excelling with Bolger\u2019s performance.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

There\u2019s a pretty good amount of features for a movie like this, including an Audio Commentary<\/u><\/strong> with Abner Pastoll; Deleted Scenes (4:20)<\/u><\/strong> and an Alternate Opening (1:28)<\/u><\/strong>, some Outtakes (10:28)<\/u><\/strong>, a Making-of Featurette (18:02)<\/u><\/strong>, some Behind-the-Scenes Footage<\/u><\/strong> and the Trailer (1:45)<\/u><\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
