When mystery novelist Sian Anderson (MEG FOSTER) arrives in the remote Greek town of Monemvasia, Elias Appleby (ROBERT MORLEY), the pompous British landlord of the house she\u2019s renting warns her of two dangers: the wind, which gets dangerously strong at night, and Phil (WINGS HAUSER), his sleazy and suspicious handyman. As night falls and the wind starts howling, Sian witnesses the shocking sight of Phil burying Elias\u2019s dead body in a shallow grave in his front garden. Trapped indoors from the raging, tree-branch-breaking wind, Sian must play a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with the murderous Phil, who\u2019ll stop at nothing to silence this inconvenient witness.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

No slip cover with this release, but there is a nice booklet<\/strong> and the sleeve is reversible with the film\u2019s original poster artwork. Not a ton of features on here, but it is a pretty obscure film, so not too surprising.<\/p>\n

Blowing the Wind (28:17)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Director Nico Mastorakis, via silhouette, discusses his work on the film.<\/p>\n

The Sound of the Wind (50:50)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 This is the complete soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer and Stanley Myers. Would\u2019ve been nice to have this as a CD so I could listen on my iPod, but cool to have here anyway.<\/p>\n

Alternate \u201cEdge of Terror\u201d Opening Credits (2:21)<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Just the same opening with a different title.<\/p>\n

Arrow Video blows in The Wind<\/em><\/strong>, releasing it onto Blu-ray presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and has been given a 1080p high-definition transfer, which was taken from a new scan in 2K resolution from the original 35mm camera negative. Given what I assume wasn\u2019t a large production budget, I was rather impressed with the picture, detail is incredibly sharp on both close-ups and background objects\/persons, colors have a good vibrancy while black levels are well balanced. The natural film grain and noise is still intact which is almost always a positive sign, giving it the best theatrical presentation possible.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes with two tracks, the first (and default) is a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 while the other is PCM 2.0. Both are rather notable, the former outputting crisp and clear dialogue levels and some modest depth particularly noticeable during the finale with the titular wind blowing all over the place.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
