Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>The story of a humiliating high school mishap from 1992 that sends the Impractical Jokers on the road competing in hidden-camera challenges for the chance to turn back the clock and redeem three of the four Jokers.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>Although I am a fan of Impractical Jokers<\/em>, kind of an oddity for there to be a movie. There are two routes to take, one of a documentary form with some challenges with behind-the-scenes with maybe the Jokers on tour. But they already did that for a TV special if I recall, so the other one here was to have a \u201cstory\u201d to take us from one challenge to the next. As such, the scripted segments, beginning with a \u201cflashback\u201d to 1992 that takes up the first 10 minutes, are unsurprisingly the weak spots as the Jokers aren\u2019t much of actors and outside of a couple scenes, such as the oddities going on inside Murr\u2019s hotel rooms, isn\u2019t anything terribly entertaining.<\/p>\n

However, once we do get to the challenges, which aren\u2019t all that audacious outside of different locales of New York City or, on occasion, Miami, have a balance of hilarious and\u2026 a bit of discomfort, the one that comes to mind of Q watching a video, in a crowd of 600 spectators, of his parents in a porno-esque scenario. Another highlight is Joe in heavy make-up as a caveman was quite funny.<\/p>\n

The other challenges are fun and did make me laugh, but so do the majority of episodes across the eight seasons. When you break it down, through the 90-minute running time, the majority I believe were scripted so the actual challenges adjust to an episode with commercials. In any case, if you are a fan of the show, the Impractical Jokers: The Movie<\/em><\/strong> is worth a watch if only one time.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie is presented in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Nothing extraordinary here, but being this is a skit\/challenge comedy, it is incredibly bright and sharp with vibrant colors. It\u2019s probably a hair better than a standard TV episode as higher-grade cameras were likely used.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Included here is a basic but adequate DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. Outside of maybe Paula Abdul\u2019s \u201clive\u201d concert, there\u2019s not a whole lot of depth here, however dialogue does come through with good clarity via the center channel.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Impractical Jokers<\/em><\/strong> is an incredibly funny show throughout its eight seasons and this movie has its moments and a few of the challenges had me laughing though the scripted segments felt like the filler it was and towards the end, did lose a bit of steam.
