Sam Dodsworth (WALTER HUSTON) is a small-town rags-to-riches millionaire who finds that his money cannot bring him happiness. His unsatisfied wife, Fran (RUTH CHATTERTON), seeking glamour and sophistication, persuades him to take her on a grand tour of Europe, where she promptly deserts him for a romantic but penniless baron (PAUL LUKAS). Warner Archive releases Dodsworth<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray which, through financing via various companies including the George Lucas Family Foundation was restored. The movie, shown in the original 1.37 full frame aspect ratio, has been given a new 1080p high-definition transfer looks fantastic, the black and white was stark while the fine and natural film grain has been retained and no major instances of artifacting, aliasing, specs or other flaws.<\/p>\n

The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track. Even for a singular track, it is rather impressive with dialogue coming through with good clarity and only a minimal amount of minor hissing though no pops were present, so likely the audio also underwent some restoration work.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
