After the death of his wife, veterinarian Chase Matthews (ANTHONY EDWARDS) and his 13-year-old son, Jeff (EDWARD FURLONG), move to Lutlow to rebuild their lives. Antagonized by the neighborhood kids, Jeff befriends another outsider, Drew Gilbert (JASON MCGUIRE), who lives in fear of his cruel stepfather, Gus (CLANCY BROWN). After Gus cold-bloodedly shoots Drew\u2019s beloved dog, the boys bury the body in the local Indian burial grounds \u2013 a placed rumored to have the powers of resurrection. But when evil is awakened, the boys realize that sometimes you should just let dead dogs lie.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Audio Commentary<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Director Mary Lambert. Moderated by Justin Beahm, Lambert sits down and offers a pretty interesting track as she recounts working on the project and with Beahm, it has a good flow and no dead spots.<\/p>\n

    A good selection of participants here, most notably Edward Furlong whom you don\u2019t really get to hear from very much and he, as well as the others, delve into his career and how this movie propelled his career as the follow-up was Terminator 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n

    Shout Factory releases Pet Sematary 2<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray, shown in the original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and has been given a new 1080p high-definition transfer, taken from a 4K scan of the original camera negative. Although I don\u2019t think this was a pristine looking picture, still was somewhat notable, detail was okay and outside of some minor specs, is fairly clean and colors appear to be as initially intended.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    The disc comes with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track which did have some fine depth during the horror elements, beginning with the opening death scene, and dialogue makes its way through the center channel providing for fine clarity. Nothing outstanding, yet still for a movie of this ilk, still found it to be an okay lossless track.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Overall, Pet Sematary Two<\/em><\/strong> is a fun enough horror-fantasy that certainly has its charms and features a recently post-Terminator 2<\/em> Edward Furlong in his first, I believe, starring role alongside a pre-ER<\/em> Anthony Edwards as his father. As for this \u201cCollector\u2019s Edition\u201d Blu-ray release from Shout Factory offers up decent video\/audio transfers and an okay selection of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
