On a whim, she rents a room from Titus, a gay wannabe Broadway actor, who makes ends meet as a street performer in Times Square. The unlikely pair find they’re well-suited to help each other out, with Titus reintroducing Kimmy to modern life, and her providing him with the inspiration that you should never give up. Together they’ll make it through whatever life throws at them.

Quick Hit Review: Although I wasn’t an avid viewer of The Office, one of my favorite actresses, at least amongst the newer ones outside of the OGs, was Ellie Kemper, who had the great combination of cute and extremely funny, even when the material wasn’t always the greatest. So, it was nice to see her get a shot at headlining her own series and while Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt didn’t hit on all strides, Kemper, alongside a fun supporting cast which includes Tituss Burgess, Carol Kane and Jane Krakowski, plus some guest stars like co-creator Tina Fey and Jon Hamm.

The premise was full of funny ideas, almost akin to Blast from the Past with Kemper’s Kimmy Schmidt’s adventures in New York City as she meets quirky people and embraces new experiences about both society and in the romance department.

Considering I don’t have Netflix, this was the first time watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and though its relatively short four seasons, the show did give me plenty to laugh at, though it started off on an awkward note as Schmidt and two others rescued from an underground bunker, talk about something akin to female empowerment in an interview with… Matt Lauer. Um, yeah.
