Series Synopsis: <\/strong>Mindy Lahiri (MINDY KALING) is a talented obstetrician navigating the tricky waters of her chaotic personal life as she pursues her dreams of becoming the perfect woman, finding happiness, and getting her perfect romantic comedy ending.<\/p>\n

Mindy shares a practice\u00a0 with a ground of doctors, none of whom makes life any less complicated for her. There\u2019s Dr. Danny Castellano (CHRIS MESSINA) whose on-again-off-again romance with Mindy keeps the office staff on their toes; Dr. Jeremy Reed (ED WEEKS), the office\u2019s managing partner and resident punching bag; ex-con-turned-nurse Morgan Tookers (IKE BARINHOLTZ); the gossipy Tamra (XOSHA ROQUEMORE); and the grumpy Beverly (BETH GRANT).<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: The Mindy Show<\/em><\/strong> is a series \u2014 which ran on Fox for its first three seasons and streaming on Hulu for the last three seasons \u2014 I had heard of, but never sat down to watch. Seeing it now, a few years following the end of its run, I had quite a great time, though it does help that I find Mindy Kaling\u2019s style of humor fits my own sort of comedy, with just the right amount of sarcasm.<\/p>\n

The supporting cast surrounding Kaling were rather fun in their own rights including Chris Messina and Ike Barinholtz, the show features some great guest appearances including Mark Duplass, Rhea Perlman, Max Minghella, Chloe Sevigny, Tim Daly and Bill Hader, along with a few of her Office<\/em> cast-mates, B.J. Novak (and consulting producer on the first season) and Elle Kemper.<\/p>\n

Not sure if the comedy itself was groundbreaking but with Mindy Kaling at the helm, she does shine and any fan of hers, even mildly, will find this series quite worthy of checking out, especially now that it\u2019s in one package.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This 10-disc set comes housed in an extra-wide HD keep case which side-slides into a matted slip cover<\/strong>. No episode guide, but each of the discs do show what season and episodes are on that disc.<\/p>\n

Features might not be plentiful, but at least Mill Creek did port over whatever was previously available, namely some Deleted Scenes<\/u><\/strong> for Seasons 1, 2 and 4 and Gag Reels<\/u><\/strong> on Seasons 2 and 4.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Mill Creek Entertainment releases The Mindy Project<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray where it\u2019s presented in its originally televised 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. This picture certainly looks like a standard television comedy, but detail at least was relatively well defined and obviously colors will have a bit of a pop considering the light-hearted nature of the show.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Each episode comes accompanied with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (so kudos to MC for not going with a standard Dolby Digital track) and while certainly this isn\u2019t going to wow anybody, presumably it\u2019s a modest step up from what you heard on television, especially with the rear channels providing some minor depth with the music\/score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, The Mindy Project<\/em><\/strong> is one of those television series where one, upon mentioning it, will remember it and surprisingly the series did last six seasons, half on network the other streaming. This is a nice package put together by Mill Creek, especially if you\u2019re a fan of Mindy Kaling\u2019s style of humor, which I generally am.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
