Season Synopsis: <\/strong>They survived the schemes of The Light and saved the Earth from the Reach invasion. But this season on Young Justice: Outsiders<\/em><\/strong>, the team will face its greatest challenge yet. Kidnapped teens are being transformed into superpowered weapons! Metahuman trafficking is a terrifying threat to a society caught in the crossfire of a genetic arms race spanning the globe and the galaxy. Now, Nightwing (JESSE MCCARTNEY), Miss Martian (DANICA MCKELLAR), Tigress (STEPHANIE LEMELIN), Aqualad (KHARY PAYTON) and Black Lightning (PAYTON) will need help from a new generation of heroes to save the world from the war games of Super-Villains controlling the system from the inside. What’s needed is a team of Outsiders.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: <\/strong>The popular Young Justice<\/em> animated television series was unceremoniously cancelled after only its second season back in 2013 only to be revived for season three, streaming on the newly formed DC Universe. I will mention, being a child of the 80s and 90s (where I consistently watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em>, The Real Ghosbusters<\/em> and Batman: The Animated Series<\/em>), Young Justice<\/em> wasn\u2019t a show I watched, save for a few episodes here and there, so I don\u2019t really have some emotional attachment to this animated series. That being said, this is an entertaining season filled with some nice animation (at least if you\u2019re a fan of the new-52 style) and generally engaging plotlines and some fun characters, which save for a few (Cyborg, Beast Boy, Black Lightning) were complete unknowns to me.<\/p>\n

    Young Justice: Outsiders<\/em><\/strong> comes to Blu-ray through the Warner Archive Collection where it\u2019s presented in its original 1.78 aspect ratio, as streamed on DC Universe, and given a 1080p high-definition transfer. The picture here looks great, the animation itself has a nice pop to it with a blend of both bright colors to darker elements in keeping with the more serious nature of the storylines and characters. Unless I missed something, there wasn\u2019t a major amount of banding to transition shots, especially in the sky, were for the most part fairly smooth.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    The included DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track pretty much is on par with many of these TV shows or DTV animated movies within the DC line, as such nothing outstanding in terms of depth during any of the action sequences, but the dialogue levels coming through the center speaker was generally clean, though no surprise since those were recorded in a studio anyway. You\u2019re might not find reference quality work here, but certainly respectable enough.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
