First there was House of 1000 Corpses<\/em>. Then there was The Devil\u2019s Rejects<\/em>. Now, from writer-director Rob Zombie, comes the next blood-soaked chapter: 3 From Hell<\/em><\/strong>. After barely surviving a furious shootout with the police, Baby Firefly (SHERI MOON ZOMBIE), Otis Driftwood (BILL MOSELEY), and Captain Spaulding (SID HAIG) are behind bars. This release comes with a matted slip cover<\/strong> and redemption code for the Digital HD<\/strong> copy. The included DVD copy contains the R-rated version, though the difference between it and the Unrated cut is less than a minute.<\/p>\n

Audio Commentary<\/u><\/strong> \u2014 Writer-Director Rob Zombie. If you\u2019ve ever listened to Zombie\u2019s past commentaries, he is a pretty engaging personality so even if you don\u2019t care for his movies, his tracks do tend to be interesting.<\/p>\n

To Hell and Back: The Making of 3 From Hell<\/em> (1:34:28)<\/u><\/strong> is a four-part behind-the-scenes documentary outlining the process of filming with interviews by members of the cast and crew. Much like the commentary, even if Zombie\u2019s movies don\u2019t impress, he does give viewers an extensive featurette (much like he did for Halloween II<\/em>).<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Lionsgate releases 3 From Hell<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented in its original 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Rob Zombie wanted, like most of his films, give this a dirty, gritty look and succeeds as there is heavy grain throughout and oversaturated colors, so may not the most beautiful looking picture, but it is in line with how he wanted it. As such, the video quality isn\u2019t at all bad, in fact it does have a decent pop even if colors are more toward earthly tones.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc includes a Dolby TrueHD 7.1 track which is fairly powerful, outputting not only clear dialogue, but some respectable bit of depth, especially when Otis and Baby Firefly go on a murderous rampage later in the film, with the rear speakers relegated for some ambient, environmental sounds, as well as the score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
