Gwen (ELEANOR WORTHINGTON-COX) is a young girl whose life seems to be collapsing around her. Struggling with her mother\u2019s (MAXINE PEAKE) mysterious illness, her father\u2019s absence and a group of angry villagers threatening to take her farm, Gwen must find the strength to guide her family through the darkness. RLJ Entertainment releases Gwen<\/em><\/strong> onto Blu-ray presented with a 2.35 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Although this is a very dark looking movie, with many scenes happening at night, the picture still has good detail mainly on the close-up shots but the film is pretty devoid of color, so not always the prettiest looking film, which was by design of course.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes with a standard but effective DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. Dialogue comes through the center speaker with fine clarity but where the track excels is in the surrounds, especially noticeable during a storm sequence where the front and rear channels impressively outputs the rain and wind.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

I wasn\u2019t a fan of The Witch<\/em> and didn\u2019t think much of this film, though the cinematography was top-notch and acting, when there is dialogue, wasn\u2019t bad either, but there was little story that captured by attention.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
