PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Evelyn (ANNA CHAPPELL) runs the Mountaintop Motel, a cluster of ramshackle cabins nestled deep in the Texas countryside. But Evelyn isn\u2019t \u2018all there;\u2019 instead tormented by ghastly voices and visions which cause her to periodically lose her grip on reality, until one fateful day, lost in a bout of insanity, she unwittingly murders her young daughter.<\/p>\n

Although the police rule it an accident, Evelyn\u2019s guilt soon overtakes her, plunging her deeper and deeper into a world of violent paranoia. When a group of travelers arrive to spend the night at the motel, Evelyn completely detaches from reality and, viewing her new guests as a threat, begins to terrorize and dispatch them one by one, with the help of her trusty sickle\u2026<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Vinegar Syndrome releases Mountain Top Motel Massacre<\/em><\/strong> where it\u2019s presented with a 1.85 widescreen aspect ratio and given a 1080p high-definition transfer culled from a newly scanned and restored 35mm negative elements scanned in 2K. Albeit not perfect, as a low budget movie from the early 80s, the picture doesn\u2019t look too bad. Detail is decent enough though in some spots it is a bit on the softer side and colors not incredibly vibrant, though likely in keeping in how the film was shot and released. There were a few specs in some shots but otherwise it is a somewhat clean transfer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes equipped with an average DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo track which did at least provide some clear dialogue although it is limited due to the what I assume was the lackluster on-scene sound design. There were some minor hissing in some parts but other than that, it\u2019s a serviceable lossless track.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Mountaintop Motel Massacre<\/em><\/strong> is a pretty laughably entertaining bad movie thanks to some of the poor production values and inexperienced actors, but like I said, can be fun at times. This Blu-ray release from Vinegar Syndrome has good video, alright audio and an okay selection of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
