However, the plot thickens when evidence arises suggesting that the car was tampered with prior to the crash. And John\u2019s entire perception of reality is thrown into doubt when he discovers a recently-shot pornopgraphic movie which appears to feature Helen \u2013 suggesting that she is in fact alive and playing an elaborate mind game on him\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/B21OGKD.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Double Face\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/B21OGKD.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Quick Hit Review: <em>Double Face<\/em><\/strong> is a flawed but still entertaining Hitchockian mystery-thriller from Italian director Riccardo Freda credited here as Robert Hampton, and stars Klaus Kinski, though to be honest, not entirely familiar with either\u2019s work (I\u2019m still a bit of a novice when it comes to Italian cinema). In any case, the plot, like many of these <em>giallo<\/em> (or <em>giallo<\/em>-inspired) movies is usually a bit haphazard and character motivations or their actions, though at least unlike others within the Italian murder-mysteries, Klaus Kinski doesn\u2019t play amateur detective, but instead is thrust the middle of the mystery itself, even being set up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All in all, <strong><em>Double Face<\/em><\/strong> (<em>Doppia Faccia<\/em>) was a fine film, nothing especially standing out though I did enjoy Kinski\u2019s performance even if the end reveal was on the clumsy side, capped off with an awkward bit of exposition with the lead detective outlying the plot just in case anyone was confused.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/MqRt9lU.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"border-screencapture aligncenter\" title=\"Double Face\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/MqRt9lU.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"366\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"*\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moviemansguide.com\/images\/main\/bar_blue.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"650\" height=\"3\" \/><\/p>\n<table id=\"review-content\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>SPECIAL FEATURES \u2013 4.0\/5<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<hr \/>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td id=\"review-content2\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The single-disc is housed in the usual Arrow Video clear HD Keep Case and inside is a nice 24-page <strong>booklet<\/strong>. The picture was cleaned up, removing instances of dirt, debris, scratches and other film damage. So quite a bit of work went into this and while there certainly some minor specs that cropped up, it\u2019s not distracting and overall the picture does look fantastic.
