He is discovered, however, by the British Secret Service, who force him to go on an undercover mission on their behalf. He is sent to pose as a Nazi officer on a German ship, but Capt. Mueller (YUL BRYNNER) is immediately suspicious of his new recruit. As Crain realizes he could be found out at any moment, he incites a riot in an effort to gain control of the boat.

Quick Hit Review: If you didn’t already know, I have an affection for anything involving World War II, be it documentaries or entirely fictionalized dramas (see Saving Private Ryan) and Morituri has the extra bonus of starring two Hollywood legends, Marlon Brando — already an Oscar winner (On the Waterfront) and nominated four other times — and Yul Brynner (Academy Award winner for The King and I) onscreen together. The pair give tremendous performance with a compelling storyline involving espionage, double-cross and just all around wartime intrigue. Probably not one of the best WWII dramas, but still highly entertaining under the direction of Bernhard Wicki (The Longest Day).

SPECIAL FEATURES – 0.5/5

This comes with an 8-page booklet.
