Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Trapped in a mysterious boarding school, 16-year-olds Vivien (KATIE DOUGLAS) and Sophia (CELINA MARTIN) embark on a dangerous search to uncover the horrifying truth behind their imprisonment. They must tread carefully as they investigate their captors, Dr. Miro (PETER OUTERBRIDGE) and Miss Brixil (SARA CANNING), and find a way out.<\/p>\n

Quick Hit Review: Level 16<\/em><\/strong> is a well made movie though certainly feels like one I\u2019ve seen many times before for some reason. On the positive side, the acting from a young and mostly unknown cast that includes Katie Douglas and Celina Martin was pretty good and Douglas in particular seems to have that \u201cit\u201d factor to hold her own as a lead. I won\u2019t say the movie breaks new ground but as independent thrillers go, it is fairly entertaining and worthy of a rental if you manage to find it at Red Box or on Netflix.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Dark Sky Films releases Level 16<\/em><\/strong> where it\u2019s presented with a 2.39 widescreen aspect ratio and a 1080p high-definition transfer. Although the movie is almost entirely set indoors, and in a basement setting with little natural daylight outside a scene or two, this isn\u2019t a dark looking film with some bright colors. Detail is also impressive with a nice sharpness and detail throughout.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie comes stocked with a strong and surprisingly semi-robust DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track. The majority of the movie might be full of dialogue but there are nice little ambient noises that come through the rear channels and does a good job giving the more enclosed feeling of the tight setting.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
