Plot Synopsis: <\/strong>Terry Tsugury (CHIBA) is a street-wise thief who agrees to help an underworld crime boss (AKIRA SHIOJI). For a fee, Tsugury will steal back a set of cassette tapes that contain precise instructions on how to manufacture cheap heroin. But when he realizes he’s been double-crossed, Tsugury makes\u00a0off with the tapes. With a deadly assassin (Frankie Black) on his trail and an ever-widening circle of people he can’t trust, Tsugury finds help in a mysterious agent (ETSUKO SHIHOMI).<\/p>\n

\n

Review: <\/strong>Admittedly, I\u2019m not much of an expert, or generally a fan, of pure martial arts movies. So this Street Fighter Collection<\/em><\/strong> is really my first significant foray into the genre and although it is quite over-the-top in its acting, I did quite enjoy The Street Fighter<\/em><\/strong>, mostly for some wonderful, if not ghastly, bloody violence. For one, our main character, Terry Tsurugi, rips a guy\u2019s junk out and in the climactic scene, rips another\u2019s throat. Also kind of appreciated that Tsurugi did haven\u2019t much in the way of a moral compass, though it is a double-edge sword when you in large part kind of root for the villain, in this case a guy seeking revenge for the of his brother, not to mention his sister whom Tsurugi more or less sold.<\/p>\n

The sequel, The Return of the Street Fighter<\/em><\/strong>, was a pretty big drop from the first film. The plot is of course thin but a fair portion are merely flashbacks to events of the first film, and all in all just wasn\u2019t very entertaining, though I did still like Sonny Chiba in the role. The final entry, The Street Fighter\u2019s Last Revenge<\/em><\/strong>, was at least a tad better, while the story, revolving a tape recording and billions in Yen, it was mildly enjoyable even when the fights weren\u2019t as well choreographed and even Chiba looked a little tired. I will say, the movie does feature a brutal scene, that I won\u2019t spoil here, only to say your jaw will drop when you see it\u2026<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
