PLOT SYNOPSIS<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

A young beautiful woman named Carol (OLINKA BEROVA) is plagued by hallucinatory voices calling her \u201cAyesha\u201d and is drawn by a mysterious force toward the east. During her voyage, she meets Dr. Philip Smith (EDWARD JUDD) who decides to accompany Carol to her unknown destination. Eventually the two reach the lost city of Kuma where Carol is greeted as the reincarnation of Queen Ayesha, the beloved of King Killikrates (JOHN RICHARDSON). Philip is imprisoned and meets Za-Tor (NOEL WILLMAN) who tells him of the high priest\u2019s deceitful plan to obtain the secret of immortality by bringing back Ayesha to King Killikrates. Will Philip escape in time to reveal the truth and save Carol from destruction?<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

There is no slip cover or reversible artwork, the other side being a lobby-like poster art. Thankfully, Shout did not leave this barebones coming with a new Audio Commentary<\/u><\/strong> with the hosts of \u2018Monster Party Podcast\u2019 Matt Weinhold, Shawn Sheridan, Larry Strothe and James Gonis; there are interviews with Assistant Director Terence Clegg (2:35)<\/u><\/strong>, Visual Effects Joy Cuff (8:02)<\/u><\/strong> and Clapper\/Loader Trevor Coop (5:42)<\/u><\/strong>; Lands Before Time (24:40)<\/u><\/strong> episode from World of Hammer<\/em>; the Theatrical Trailer (2:23)<\/u><\/strong>, two TV Spots (1:22)<\/u><\/strong> and an Image Gallery (5:27)<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The Vengeance of She<\/em><\/strong> debuts on Blu-ray through Shout Factory where it received a new 1080p transfer taken from a 2K scan of the original film elements. On the positive side, the picture does look decent, detail was sharp and colors on the vibrant side and presumably this is the best this movie has ever looked. Now, on the downside, there didn\u2019t seem to be a scene that didn\u2019t have some dust marks, specs or minor scratches. This isn\u2019t a film that underwent much restoration and frankly, outside of Arrow Video, not many studios would undertake the time and, especially, expense, of doing that.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The disc comes with a standard but fine DTS-HD Master Audio Mono track. Dialogue levels come through with good clarity and there weren\u2019t any noticeable bouts of hissing or pops, though the precision with the rockin\u2019 1960s music was on the rockier side.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, The Vengeance of She<\/em><\/strong>, a sequel to the 1965 She<\/em>, is actually a fun little romp that, albeit not terribly well written, is quite entertaining for its fantastical elements and Olinka Berova was one of the bright spots, though not the best actress. This Blu-ray release has good video\/audio transfers and the features were okay, highlighted by the new commentary track.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
