Long ago, the now-extinct marsupial wolf (a.k.a. the Tasmanian Tiger) roamed the Australian Outback. Today, a werewolf colony that has descended from these marsupials has taken over the land. This race of human-like creatures roams the outback, preying on the unsuspecting to feed their growing numbers. The race for survival is on as the humans struggle to contain these out-of-control creatures.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

There are a few decent features, though with a new Audio Commentary<\/u><\/strong> with Writer\/Director Philippe Mora, a new Interview (27:23; 1080p)<\/u><\/strong> with Mora and Vintage Interview (18:56; 1080p)<\/u><\/strong> excerpts from the \u201cNot Quite Hollywood\u201d documentary by Mark Hartley. Also included is the Theatrical Trailer (2:06; 1080i)<\/u><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Howling III<\/em><\/strong> comes to Blu-ray through Shout Factory\u2019s Scream line and has been given a 1080p high-definition transfer which was taken from a new 4K scan of the original film elements. Outside of some dust marks and minor scratches, this is a good looking transfer, especially for a movie that is over 30 years old and one that probably didn\u2019t have a large budget. Colors were nice and bright without appearing bolstered and detail was relatively sharp with a couple softer shots.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio Stereo track which sounds pretty good outputting clear dialogue levels, some okay depth and no discernible hisses or pops. Basic but effective enough.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, I\u2019m not especially fond of the Howling<\/em> franchise and this third entry, which doesn\u2019t have much in common with the first two films, has a few cheesy scenes and an amusing premise that did make this at least an entertaining fantasy-horror flick. This Blu-ray release via Scream Factory has respectable video and audio transfers and a fine selection of bonus features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
