The mighty Lord of the Apes (GORDON SCOTT) is on a deadly trail. He\u2019s determined to find the diamond hunters (including ANTHONY QUAYLE and SEAN CONNERY) who brought terror and death to a peaceful village. But as much as Tarzan is a tracker and avengers, he\u2019s also a protector. An irresponsible gadfly (SARA SHANE) from the so-called civilized world intrudes on his quest, and Tarzan knows he cannot leave her to fend for herself.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

The movie is presented with a 1.78 widescreen aspect ratio and given a new 1080p high-definition transfer which doesn\u2019t look half bad. The majority of the scenes are sharp with good refinement to them with some somewhat vibrant colors. Other shots, however, are on the softer side and there were some minor specs, so not a completely clean picture, yet still respectable especially for a movie nearly 60 years old.<\/p>\n

The included DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono track is functional enough outputting clear dialogue levels and some okay depth for a centrally located channel. There were no noticeable instances of pops or hisses so a fine sounding lossless track.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Overall, Tarzan\u2019s Greatest Adventure<\/em><\/strong> is considered one of the better adaptation of the classic Edgar Rice Burroughs\u2019 creation and indeed, it is a solid action-adventure flick with a wonderful performance by Gordon Scott and Anthony Quayle as the villain (not to mention Sean Connery as one of his henchmen). This Blu-ray release offers good video\/audio transfers though as usual, lacked any meaningful special features.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
